Nigerian Civil War Videos: Could TRUTH Had Made Any Difference?

Folks,

Check out the Nigerian Civil War ‘YouTube’ videos – link below; coming out for the first time as Nigeria marks its 47 birthday come October 1.

The YouTube (7) segments, is a reminder that war does not pay no matter the reason for embarking on it. Nations/people have to seek ways to better live together instead of war that at the end leaves many bruised, scarred, maimed and wounded, without what caused/started the war getting addressed to anyone’s satisfaction.

Some in the former Biafra, still want to secede but will that happen? A million Naira question.

We must learn and accept others’ differences and accord people the right to live to their fullest. US has more ethnic mix than any nation, and no one is thinking war of separation within US. Some maybe disgruntled about how things are, but they are not agitating separation from US, and will not succeed if they tried.

US experience is a lesson many in other parts of the world need to learn and accept. Yes, US fought a civil to remain one, that experience and the attendant benefits are why no nation should want to fight a war of secession. The US lesson is available for any to copy. But are leaders in some of the world’s troubled spots sincere/courageous enough to know that war does not PAY?

When next anyone wants to fight a war, they should make sure their own is in it. Maybe when the body bags start coming home, a change of mind might help to stop the war. No one’s son/daughter, needs to die because of the insatiable quest for power and ego of a few that hoist their political and personal goals on the less fortunate.

Throughout history, majority of poor folks end up fighting war for those that while the war is raging, are sequestered in air-conditioned spaces enjoying the comfort of their friends/family/women and some drinks. Occasionally, they shed crocodile tears and dry sympathy for those who have lost loved ones. As the saying goes, ‘when someone’s coffin is making the passage, it sometimes feels like a piece of wood about to be put away, but was once ‘flesh and blood’ now deceased because of man’s inhumanity to man‘.

You go FIGURE!!
