At bornAfrican, our mission is very simple:
To provide an online community for Africans everywhere.
We believe that the vast distances that separate Algeria from Angola, Lisbon from Lagos, and the United States from Uganda are greatly diminished by our ability to form communities through this medium called the Web…
As important as our mission is our commitment:
To make contributions to our physical community through our virtual community.
We don’t claim to have the cure for all the world’s ails. We just feel there’s a world of truth to the saying, “two heads are better than one.” And if two are better than one, imagine what a hundred, or a thousand can do.
Our commitment to the “community” idea is strong… Our most pressing task is to make the site ever more informative, entertaining, and useful… to ensure that we live up to the “the convergence of Africana” billing.
If you were to visit at least once a day, we’d consider our work to have been well done; and if you were to tell a friend about us? Well, that’d be a validation of the “community for Africans everywhere” mission and, for us, would be like winning an Oscar®.
The biggest contribution you can make to this project though, is to be part of it. We look forward to growing this community with you as a part of it, and hope that the next time you visit, you won’t be just a visitor any more.

- Shop – bornAfrican’s online Web store;
- Events – a message board of events of interest to Africans at home and in diaspora;
- Directory – an online directory of people, companies, products, services, and more;
- Classified – bornAfrican’s online ad service;
- Gallery – a catalog of photographs and videos;
